Maria has over 30 years of professional experience, including extensive experience in telecom projects throughout the Americas. Maria Mato Consultancy (MMC) provides a global platform to support her clients in Permits in Principle (PiPs) with strategic leadership and tri-lingual language skills in English, Spanish and Portuguese. She leads her teams in successful on-time and onbudget project execution, engaging staff as well as regulators in multiple time zones, languages, and cultures. Selected Professional Experience In 1999, Maria was the project manager for the South American Crossing (SAC) system, the first fiber optic cable to circle Latin America. She led the project team in obtaining PiPs in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Panama, and United States Virgin Islands. The scope of work included installation of Cable Landing Stations (CLSs) and fronthaul infrastructure. This first system, implemented simultaneously in seven countries, influenced and helped to establish the environmental regulatory requirements for the installation of fiber optic cables throughout Latin America. She has since led project teams in permitting fiber optic cable installations for many large cable systems throughout Latin America (see figure below) and elsewhere
